Photo Guidelines
Photos should be high-resolution with the device shown by itself if possible. We do accept photos of devices in racks and installed modules, but the device should be centered in the frame and not obscured by cabling.
For network devices, take photos of the front panel and rear panel at a minimum. Shots of the device powered on are accepted.
For network modules, take photos of the front panel, rear backplane interface, top, and bottom.
Tips for quality photos
- Remove any stickers, especially of sensitive information (IP addresses, etc)
- Provide good lighting with minimal shadows and glare (this usually means no flash, but feel free to experiment)
- Ensure device is level in photo
- Use neutral backgrounds when possible
- Crop the image to just the device without cutting off any portion of it
